The space separating two poles is not empty. Between the source of a river and its mouth, there is always, by nature, flowing water.
HEIMWEG (the way home) is a long-term project addressing the themes of memory, belonging and family—following a rupture. The course of the Soča-Isonzo River, which flows from the Julian Alps to the Adriatic Sea, crossing the border between Italy and Slovenia, parallels my family story and serves as a metaphor for the long silence between my parents.
